We’re pleased to announce our charity support with Oarsome Chance Foundation, a local charity that works with disengaged young people aged 9-19 from the Gosport, Portsmouth and Havant areas. Using a combination of water-based sports and vocational training such as carpentry and boat-building, Oarsome Chance has worked with over 1,500 children in the last 18 months, bringing about a positive changes to the lives of lots of young people!
Alex, who is an official Patron for the charity, was proud to officially open the new Oarsome Chance base next to Forton Lake in Gosport on Saturday.
Alex said: “It’s fantastic to be involved in a project that is having such a big impact on children’s lives by teaching valuable skills and encouraging local children to get out on the water. The work the Oarsome Chance team are doing is really inspiring. They are giving local children an opportunity to learn in a different environment. We had a great fun out on the water on Saturday, racing with some of the students on skiffs which they have built themselves.”
