Having started the day in 7th place, Alex Thomson has begun to significantly close the gap between himself and the leaders Armel le Cleac’h and Vincent Riou, moving into third place as of the 14:00 UTC update.
Thomson has managed to claw back the miles currently travelling at 20.9 knots, the fastest in the fleet. The gap between himself and Armel le Cleac’h now stands at 47.1 nautical miles.
With the winds set to increase once more tonight, we hope to see HUGO BOSS pick up more speed and continue to close the gap as they race towards the equator in the next coming days.
